I love Amethyst. It's my favorite semiprecious stone. I do have others though. I have rose quartz, clear quartz, malachite, moonstone, labradorite, 2 blue topaz pieces and rainbow fluorite. I have a small packet of several stones that look familiar, but I wouldn't be able to say for sure what they are.

In addition to the five I carry I also have Moonstone, Howelite, Citrine, Snow flack obsidian, Smokey Quartz, a large block of Spanish Lace agate, petrified wood, a 2" iron pyrite ball, a square block of agate and a slice of a geode agate. Since becoming aware of crystals and stones I have noticed a different vibration in each.

Watersheild, you have quite the selection! I was curious to know what the Spanish lace agate looks like. If you would'nt mind posting a picture of it or a link to see what it looks like.
Thanks, Jacqueline~

BREAHTAKING!!! It kinda looks like it's related to to the geode family. What kind of energy do you find that this stone radiates? Just by looking at the picture, I get a calming feeling. Thanks for posting it. Jacqueline~

Actually, when I hold any of the stones my Grand Father cut and polished I see him working in his shop. He was an excellent cabinet maker as well as a lapidarist and taught me how to appreciate wood and stone. He put a lot of himself into his work and I have never "purged" that from them. Happier days from the past so to speak.

All of these, as I said, were cut & polished by my Grand Father, who to me was the kindest person I've ever met. They came to me from his estate and have been cherished reminders of him for many years.
I think that my be what give certain stone their power, the emotional connection we have with what they represent to us.

I have a thing going on with flourite at the moment. Not sure why, but I absolutely love it, it is fantastically beautiful, and I love the spider's web effect you get with it too. I also love chunks of unpolished rose quartz, they look so liquid. And I do love clear quartz too, it feels incredibly powerful to me - circemoon, I'd love to try your method of cleansing/charging with clear quartz, but I only have small stones, would it work to make a circle of them and put the stones that need cleansing/charging in the middle of that?

Definately amethyst!!I suffer from migraine headaches and have trouble sleeping, and this wonderful stone helps with both.Every night before bed,I put on my silver amethyst cabochan ring and I get an immediate feeling of peace and serenity.Other than amethyst,I like moonstone, quartz crystals, and hematite. The hematite is great for grounding and deflecting negativity.

I have a few stones and crystals - I love rose quartz too and have a fairly large one, a smaller but still large one, and 3 small tumbled ones.
Ones I do not know what are (all small tumbled and polished) a milky yellow one a white to gray to blue marbled one with grey to black marbling a maroon purple mauve verigated one a reddish to pink to maroon cloudy one a black white grey verigrated one a deep black only one a grey brown rust verigrated one a cloudy greenish yellowish one
I have collected these over a period of time - no special reason - just attracted to them.
I have a fair sized tanzanite Husband bought for me but I picked it out. I saw where cm called it the stone of magic, but I did not know this at the time I acquired it. I just felt a deep attraction for it. I had never even heard of a tanzanite when I picked it out - I just called it a blurple stone - blue to purple color - very clear - nice cut - beautiful.
The last one I will list is another Husband bought for me - he picked this one out all by himself. It is called a Paraiba Tourmaline. It is a cabachon (sp) cut and very beautiful color. The color is very similar to the shade of blue on this forum. Does anyone know anything about the properties of this stone? When I had it appraised for insurance the local jeweler had never even heard of this gemstone so I don't know how she arrived at its value. I know what it cost and what it is because I took it to the original jeweler and he told me what it was, its history, and how he acquired it. Interesting story.
I keep the more valuable pieces along with some diamonds in a safety deposit box at the local bank and retrieve them for personal use. I cannot wear jewelry because of my work - I am a professional caregiver, and only wear a plain gold band at all times. What are the properties of diamonds?
I can do my own research for this information but would rather here from someone who is experienced in using this type of resource. I have never used them for magic myself although I like to carry the smaller polished rose quartz with me at times.
Thank you in advance for any help I may receive.

Just doing a 'bump' here to re-open !
I work with red jasper runes and I love them. I have a couple of different jaspers as well, and love there healing effects.
I wear amethyst rings and a sardonyx pendant and love the tigereye and jade as well.
What stones/crystals does everyone wear here - and why???

I have several rings and depending on my mood these rings want to be worn. The rings are, Smokey Quartz, Blue saphire, Yellow Tiger eye, Diamond, and a black stone that I've had since I was a teen (think its onyx)
