I would love to study crystal healing! Right now I work mainly with moonstone, hematite and citrine.

Crystals are wonderful to work with, my collection has a selection of quartz (rose & clear), moonstone, lapis, amber, citrine, tiger eye, snowflake obsidian, sodalite, jasper (red & yellow), carnelian. I managed to locate some wonderful peices recently, quan yin flourite, botswanna agate, wyoming jade and a nevada opal in rhyolite, such lovely stone with tons of spiritual energy

This past weekend, I was out doing my xmas shopping (and it's not even boxing day ..LOL) The mall has a new "Rock Shop". They had a 36" Amethyst Geode on diplay which caught my attention. Now, I've never been one for a lot of tools or stuff, but the rock and gem display REALLY caught my eye. Several pieces needed to be touched or so I felt. After spending an hour with these gems, I now own several; Amethyst, Citrine, both in a very "raw" state, Hematite, Smokey Quartz, Yellow Tigers Eye, Aventurine, & Howlite.

This often happens to me watersheild. I'll see crystals and rocks in the shops and I just HAVE to touch them. I've had many a strange look directed my way when I'm rubbing a tourmaline over my face. ;D

well me at the moment i have 16 diffrent gems that were provided by a really nice man, at the monent im still learning all the names and what stone it goes withbut i have it narrowed down to just two stone of which i cant mind what one is what and the rest i know but its the names i'm still having problems with lol
i wouls have to say out of them alli like the two diffrent blue oneswhich if i name right are one easy is blue lace agate, chevron amethyst is the other well it aint quite blue more a blue/purple colour with white stripes correct me if i am wrong by all means...
i do like all the stones the tiger eyes are nice but i have to say the best looking one has to be the goldstone i just love the way the rust colour has all thoe wonderful little flecks of gold sparkling through out i havent worked with any as yet but i think i will give it a good try i get a good feeling from them when i sit trying to name them all but i got a lot of learning to do first before i can use them..

My favorite at the moment is my mystarie vibey coral that I know nothing about, but I've started another thread on that one. Amathyst is my all time favorite, it's my birth stone, I've always felt drawn to it, if I have a piece near me I feel like myself. It's more like a comfort blanket than a gem to me........not as comfy to sleep on though

Great topic Hedge! Lots of information here and now I want some of the stones circemoon listed! My personal Power Stone is Obsidian - don't leave home without it! My stone for cleansing, like circemoon, is a quartz crystal cluster I have several clear crystal points that work with me, along with some smoky quartz and rose quartz When working with stones for other people, I have several that work well. Amber Amethyst Bloodstone Jasper Tiger's Eye (all colors) just recently acquired a 3 inch sphere of Cat's Eye but it seems to respond to my daughter more than me so I'm thinking birthday present I love emeralds and used to wear at least one every day, but I recently discovered that I have an overabundance of receptive energy and since the emerald is a receptive stone I have quit wearing them Like the rest of you, my list could go on but these are the ones I use the most.

Just before I leave the house of a morning I often choose a stone at random to carry with me for the day. Though I think it's more the stone chooses to be chosen and I don't think there's any randomness in it at all.

Diamonds don't do anything for me either. I'd say of the precious and semi-precious stones Emeralds are what I'm attracted to.

There's actually a big awareness thing in England at the moment about the fact that a lot of Diamonds are produced at huge cost to third world countries, this is also true of a lot of other gems. I'm the first to admit that I'm not great at researching where all my stones came from. However there's probably a case for saying that if a stone comes from a troubled place it's likely it will be a bit difficult to work with. I don't know if there's any truth in that, just a little musing I did.

Of late I've started carrying 5 stones with me. Adventurine, Hematite, Golden Tigers Eye, Aqua Marine, and Blue Lace Agate. North, South, East, West, & Spirit. or at least how I see them.
I would love to have a piece of blue stone from the stone Henge area. If anyone is in the mood the run to the mail box.....
