Yay! Reiki level II was great. I learned some of the key symbols and began practicing with them right away. SOme I had alreayd known before though. Nevertheless, I love this stuff and it adds to my crystal healing business tenfold. Many people who take Reiki courses do not do anything with it--they just say, "Oh, I know Reiki.' I have discovered that it is something that needs to be incorporated into your everyday in order to ensure the energy keeps growing. I will continue with this attunement for quite some time before I take the final level of master/teacher. But, for those of you who are interested and willing to work with it, I strongly recommend adding this wonderful healing art to your arsenal of healing therapies. Many blessings,

they have books on the subject. But really its all up to you if you are really ready to try this. Not saying your not I back you up 100% but if you want into hold on let me see what I can grab in a quick sec. What is Reiki? The International Center for Reiki Training A Brief Overview Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy." A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. Many have reported miraculous results. Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficialeffect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery. An amazingly simple technique to learn, the ability to use Reiki is not taught in the usual sense, but is transferred to the student during a Reiki class. This ability is passed on during an "attunement" given by a Reiki master and allows the student to tap into an unlimited supply of "life force energy" to improve one's health and enhance the quality of life. Its use is not dependent on one's intellectual capacity or spiritual development and therefore is available to everyone. It has been successfully taught to thousands of people of all ages and backgrounds. While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion. It has no dogma, and there is nothing you must believe in order to learn and use Reiki. In fact, Reiki is not dependent on belief at all and will work whether you believe in it or not. Because Reiki comes from God, many people find that using Reiki puts them more in touch with the experience of their religion rather than having only an intellectual concept of it. While Reiki is not a religion, it is still important to live and act in a way that promotes harmony with others. Dr. Mikao Usui, the founder of the Reiki system of natural healing, recommended that one practice certain simple ethical ideals to promote peace and harmony, which are nearly universal across all cultures. During a meditation several years after developing Reiki, Dr. Usui decided to add the Reiki Ideals to the practice of Reiki. The Ideals came in part from the five prinicples of the Meiji emperor of Japan whom Dr. Usui admired. The Ideals were developed to add spiritual balance to Usui Reiki. Their purpose is to help people realize that healing the spirit by consciously deciding to improve oneself is a necessary part of the Reiki healing experience. In order for the Reiki healing energies to have lasting results, the client must accept responsibility for her or his healing and take an active part in it. Therefore, the Usui system of Reiki is more than the use of the Reiki energy. It must also include an active commitment to improve oneself in order for it to be a complete system. The ideals are both guidelines for living a gracious life and virtues worthy of practice for their inherent value. The secret art of inviting happiness The miraculous medicine of all diseases Just for today, do not anger Do not worry and be filled with gratitude Devote yourself to your work. Be kind to people. Every morning and evening, join your hands in prayer. Pray these words to your heart and chant these words with your mouth Usui Reiki Treatment for the improvement of body and mind The founder , Usui Mikao And hear go to this website and look around a bit this may help you more. reiki.7gen.com/index.html

I have to revive this post because I Love Reiki. I am attuned to Reiki I and II. I got them done in the same week, and I felt really great after my attunements. I didn't go through cleansing or anything like that, but a lot did happen in my life that changed. What I find interesting is that when you receive a Reiki treatment from a practitioner whose Reiki is at a higher vibration, yours will rise to meet theirs too, so your channels open up more afterward I guess. Do you find that with more use, you increase the amount of energy you can handle?

I have practiced Reiki for the last two years. It is a wonderful healing process. It is a very special gift from the goddess that works wonderful. Like many of you, I felt different aferwards. When I got my attunements, it was such a nice buzz.
For those of you new to Reiki, don't forget to ground yourselves and cleanse your own aura's afterwards. We pick things up from people that aren't ours to keep and cleansing and grounding releases this back into Mother Earth to purify and release to whomever requires it.

It can unground you quite a lot, so I suggest being a little careful and listen to your body while doing Reiki.
I agree here - I am II attunement and it does take some out of you when you begin. It is an amazing healing experience - for others AND for yourself.
Good luck to those who are going for there 1st and 2nd attunements.

I perform Reiki for others. When I first learned it years ago it was called "healing touch". I never charge a fee for my service and reccomend 3 one hour sessions in a timeline compatible to my client and myself. I also had Reiki performed on me (2 one hour sessions - we just couldn't work the third one in). This was before I went in for a total hysterectomy due to uterine tumors and one ovarian cyst. I told the doctor to remove the remaining ovary because I felt it was just a cancer trap at that point. Anyway I went home from the hospital the same day as my surgery and feel it was because of the Reiki. Peace

I bought a Pair of Reiki sessions at a Fund raiser at my Kids school I felt it would help becasue my stress levels were interfearing with my ability to work at taking care of my kids I was not able to see the roots of their complants, or heal any of their problems not that I can all the time, but I can a lot, and the lack was making a BIG strain on all of us
The woman I went to Used Egyptial Healing Rods to start then used her chrystals and Tones to clear my Chakra's I had my 11yo daughter with me at the time, she has been struggling with Migraines and was not able to deal with school.
After the session she told me she had a headache, but 2 hours later it was reduced by at least half, 4 hours later she was pain free, for the first time in weeks Clearing her diet had only helped a bit, and Chiropractors had only done a portion of the healing it never went all the way away until after MY reiki session the practitioner was pleased that she was feeling better. at my next session I took her with me as well this time the practitioner did a brief reading on her as well
BTW I got my Healing Touch back, and was SO in tuned I was able to heal one of my Daughters friends fingers she slammed in a door (no, I checked to see if it was broken first) Swelling went away almost immediatly
now I am HOOKED on it Reiki RULES or as my Daughter says "It Rocks my Socks"
enjoy

I wish I had read this sooner. I have a friend in her early 40's that has a doctors degree in Reiki. Shes very wise and helpful. She spent allot of time trying to find a part in life meant just for her, and she found it. She went to colledge in, I think Eugene? Anyways, she does that for a living. I always wanted to learn how to do it. Maybe I should call her up again............(Drifts over to the phone)

I am II attuned. I agree with circemoon, it does make you feel different. I knew I had healing powers of some sort before my attunement and once I was taught how to use it correctly OMG what a difference. I agree as well, that once the attunement is done, it doesn't make you an expert - you have to keep it up and master it in your own ways. Always remembering to work on the important grounding.
How did your course in the cave go HW? Sounds peaceful and what a lovely environment to learn.
