I have had this done at school. The women I got to do this for me was sick for the next three days after working on me. When I got to talk to her again she was like damn don't let try that on you again. But after she did reiki on me I felt like I could do just about anything I wanted to. Trust me you get this done it's worth it. and here is a link to a website with some info on it. holisticonline.com/Reiki/hol_Reiki_home.htm

Yes it is very important to protect yourself when doing touch therapy of any kind. That's the big problem with Reiki. Everyone seems to "know" how to do it. . .but do they really??? Nevertheless, a long-time and trusted witch freind of mine has decided to finally teach me. I begin next weekend so i will let you know. I prefer getting Reiki instruction from a witch than a stay at home Mom who reads Cosmo. . .which seems to be the profile of many Reiki "masters" around here.

I' getting my Reiki I and II attunements in December! I've heard that you need a few months gap inbetween the first and second attunements.Has anyone else heard this before and can anyone shed some light on the matter as to why this is suggested?

Well, I am getting level 1 next weekend and level two two weekends later. So no, that "rule" does not always apply. I dunno who creates rules like this. The universe teaches you what you need when you are ready for it--not according to someone's theory or plan. But, I am sure your teacher has a good reason behind it for herself. However, I am told not to have coffee or food that will slow the body down for level 1. I will let you know how it goes.
Blessings,

I'm getting one and two done in the same week. You're right of course, if I'm not ready for it it won't happen, but I'll be paying a lot of money if it doesn't work out.

My other half bought me some lovely pressies ;D
There's one thing about me I am extremely independent and like to pay my own way, allways have done allways will. Where I'm going to receive my Reiki attunement is actually a working holiday set in a beautiful cave retreat south of Spain ( I get to live in a cave house for a week!!!!). In the morning I pick Olives and in the afternoon I am free to use the retreats facilities which as well as Reiki includes reflexology, Indian head massage and yoga. So I'm not paying a lot for the week as it is, it would just be a shame if it didn't work out. The Reiki master assures me though that it will be fine. I am really excited about it.

Yes, The session lasted most of the day yesterday as after the teaching of Reiki principles we did tons of healing on each other. It was indeed quite powerful and I am surprised by the changes that have happened in me. You actually feel different. The Japanese are genuises!!! It can unground you quite a lot, so I suggest being a little careful and listen to your body while doing Reiki. The attunement itself takes two seconds really. The Reiki Master does some special symbols with the hands and blows on to your root chakra. Soon after she attuned me I felt blood pulsing in my fingertips! I am imprerssed with this art and will continue to work on it!
