I have always thought that magic itself is neutral...It's the intentions of the witch practicing, that establishes it's path...If anyone has a thought on this...please share DASZAVIJN

I'm in the closet when it comes to a lot of people. Not that I'm non-confrontational, because I am when it comes to something that is seriously igging my nerves, but when it comes to beliefs such as Spirituality/religion, or politics... I say that is off the radar and don't even give my personal oppinion. (Not suprisingly, those are two of the three things that people often go to war for... Power, Religion, and Politics) I'm not going to argue all day with someone so that they can see things my way, graps that the world is full of differing spiritual practices, or so that they can let me see things the way I see them. I was tired of defending myself allll the time. So I just keep my mouth shut. Which, by the way, is equally as frustrating. I don't feel like I should have to hide, but because of the modern-day persecution I experienced a few years back, I am very wary and I keep my personal oppinion on these matters to myself. Only my closest, closest friends and my youngest sister knows and loves me and doesn't judge me. That's 3 people all together. The rest of my circle of friends are lucky if I even tell them I have Pagan/Earth centered views, lol. It just makes my life a lot easier.

My family knows I'm a witch... I protested moving in with his family due to the fact my rituals, and practices would be hampered, which they are There's six of us here in this house which means no peace and quiet anywhere. No one smokes in the house so there's even a tv in the garage ! When we did move in we sat and talked. I told them I was pagan and asked if that bothered them. His brother's wife asked if I performed and practiced witchcraft ? Yes I do. Do you use white or black magic ? (she's 67) Just to keep the peace I said white...never know what goes on in her mind ! In my experience, the terms white magic and black magic are used by people to make a distinction in their own heads when they don't really understand the whole concept. It is simplifying the matter for the sake of being able to understand - like you might explain something to a child in a simple manner.

I just explain the intent upon the base of the spell, ritual or ceremony... But my mum says that I am a white witch, I am not of the sort, I study and explore all aspects of magick not just the black side or the white. I keep my tools in my room on a table, there not set out or anything, they just sit there...They are mainly hidden, my magick is very private and someone to see me practice is lucky...

I am kind of pinky white - I suppose my magik is the same. If I need to do something to negate a process, I will use dark magic, for good, or for bad, if I wish to enhance a process, I use clear magik, for good or for bad. Everything else fits somewhere betwixt the one and the other.

I don't see things as black or white, just a view from clear to veiled - clear magik in my view is that innocent influence that harms none.

It seems to me that when people use the terms white or black magic they are compartmentalizing, trying to put things into neat little categories so they can justify or accept what it is they have just been told. BUT, that is not the way the world really is, there is no white or black in its entirity. We all have the capablity to do good AND bad so there for we all contain those "terms" within us. I have started explaining this to my 9 year old today when she asked did "we" practice good or evil. I have a real problem when people do things that are wrong and blame them on others or even "the devil". A person should take responsibility for their choices and actions.

I am with, what sounds like a great many here. I believe in neither in reference towards myself. I am pretty much still in the "closet", if you will. As such the question have never been asked of me. I feel that there are both aspects in nature and the world around us, but each has its place and time. They need no help from us, if they choose to present their selves to us. Each has a time and place.
Oops, rambling again...

Yes, but we could get forces that are black...or forces of white to help us with the spells empowerment...
For example, we may summon Angels for a healing spell...Force of good. And me may use a chickens foot for a evil spell...I dont know haha, but we do use "tools" for good or bad empowerment.

Same tool and the same energy to do both. The difference is the intent of the user.
But I do understand the point. Yes, there are dark forces at play. Or more precisly, there are beings and entities that use energy as they will, though it's our perception of what is being done that makes it dark or not.
A lion hunts down a baby water buffalo calf, kills it and eats. To the water buffalo this is terrifying. Even the other animals in the vacinity are scared. To the lion however this is just a means to satisfy hunger. A small child watching the scene might cry at the sight. A hunter will understand this is the law of survival.
