I'm frequently reading of potions to aid in ap and potions for protection while doing ap. I've even read that some feel that the connection with the physical body could be cut. What do you thing? Are there any risks to the spirit while in ap and if so, what are they? Can the connection be cut, and if so how?
If you repond to this than obviously you have ap'd. Where did you go? What did you see? How did it feel?

Nope, never Ap'd. Not intentionaly anyway But IMO I don't think it's possiable to dissconect from the physical body completely (unless the body's in a verry bad stat EG. under a truck). Although, that being said, there are incidents of unexplained deaths eg: Sudden Adult Death (SAD) Perhaps the theory of the spirit being cut from the physical could be applied there, but how that would happen? No clue.

Im not sure if theres a way that your AS spirit can be cut WS...Iv done this a few times and always got back safely...
Im known to smoke some of the herb in the summer and this is great for spiritual journeys, its the only reason i smoke it....
Our ancestors used potions to help them travel to the underworld and upper worlds, either by drink or herbs, some even have been known to lick the back of a toxic toad in some tribes, even to this day.....
I think the minute you feel under any threat you jump straight back into your body, this happened to me on my very first attempt...
I was in the bath many years ago and the next thing, i was above me looking down on my body, scared me half to death and the minute i felt that, whoosh, i was back in my body....I also saw my aura at the time which was yellow and orange hues.....
Where do i go?, all over the place, otherworlds mainly, sometimes i recieve guidence other times i just enjoy the scenery, iv never felt any threat though.....
How do i feel?, great! and sometimes enlightened......

There is a theory that if you AP too much it becomes adictive, but I don't think that is true, what is true is that if someone disterbs your body you could be snapped back to it and that can cause serious injury to your soul, which is why people are advised to do it when you know you wont be disterbed. I usually go when everyone in my house goes to sleep. For your other questions, at first I just hung around my house, walking around my room, but then as I got better I started walking around town. I'm starting to get very good. At some point I think I may be able to go to another place entirly. Im trying to train myself to handle long distance travels. I'll keep you posted on how that works out.

In all my readings, I've never heard of anyone becoming adiced to AP. At least, no more than some one who likes to walk in the park. Yes if the body is disturbed, you can be pulled back, but I've never heard of any harm to the astral or physical body as a result.

I've never AP'd. However, when I was in my early teens I attended yoga classes for a few years (that's where I learned to meditate).
One time, our teacher (Ivanca) led us in a meditation session. When the session had ended and we'd all grounded, Ivanca noticed one lady in the back seemed to be in a trance. She went over to her and very gently talked her through coming out of it. The lady later explained her experience to us. She'd actually felt herself leaving her body and was watching us all from another part of the room. She said she was having difficulty returning to her body.
I did find this quite frightening at the time, and wondered what would have happened if she'd been on her own.
I don't know if this would be classed as AP or just an OBE.
I've experienced OBE many times (when my mind feels completely removed from my physical body), but have never AP'd.

In all my readings, I've never heard of anyone becoming adiced to AP. Its a theory of a some doctor. Dont remember his name. But I really dont think it could happen. I've astral projected many times and I never felt addicted. More free than anything.

My first experience with AP resulted from a near death experience. I floated above my body and felt free. I could see my body sliding down a large hill after a lightening strike about 30 years ago. I felt no attachment to my body at all and did not desire to return to it. Although I could not see others I knew that I was surrounded by them and communicated by telepathy. I communicated that I did not want to return to my body but was told it was not yet my "time". I felt myself being pushed back into my body and that was that. More recently I have attempted to AP just for the experience of trying to do it and have had varying degrees of success. Like V I find herb useful. Most frequently I leave my body and wander around my immediate environment. It is a pleasant experience while it lasts. I am also very happy to be earth - bound so do not practice this often. I am always alone when I do this - how rude to just wander off when I am with someone else.

What herb do you smoke? I've been wanting to AP for years now, but have never been able to achieve it. Of course, I don't try very regularly.

That would be "The" herb. In most places society looks unkindly towards it. However I understand it is used extensivly medically

I AP quite often and while i enjoy this experience, i would not say i was addicted. To be addicted to something is to be unable to be without it whereas i am able to go months without AP'ing but prefer not to.
Where do i go?
All over the place, i visit people i know, go to quiet places, sit by rivers and in woods. I also frequent my own 'created' place, a forest near a mountain with a river running through it and birds flying over it. Here i am at peace and can reach my 'inner sanctum'.
What do i do?
Whatever i feel like doing, i can just sit and relax, contemplate my life or walk through the forests and hills free of my physical limitations.
How do i feel?
Relaxed but also stimulated, happy and at one with myself and nature.

is it like a dream? when you walk around does it 'feel' the same? or in traveling to other places would you feel the energy there?

I have APed using Robert Bruce's "rope technique". It was relatively simple though it is startling at first and will likely make you "chicken out" the first few times. No potions necessary--and definitely no inebriation necessary. Being sober but tired is the way to go. And you don't "walk around" when you AP. This is laughable. Just try "rope technique". I'm sure you can find info on the net if you search for Robert Bruce or "Rope Technique".

The things that I'm reading in this post really demonstrate the misconceptions about AP. Just to clear some things up:
1. You CAN NOT be permanently disconnected from your body. Simply fearing this will instantly snap you back to your body. If you concentrate (doesn't even take much concentration) on wiggling your "physical" fingers, you will instantly be back into your vessel. When you prompt yourself to move in the astral version of the world, it is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT than physically moving your body in the waking world. If you try to "physically" move while APing, you will return to your body. This is a f**king fact.
2. You can NOT become "addicted" to APing. This is hilarious. We're not talking about "the ring that rules them all" here! Is this some kind of Christian propaganda or something? Addictive? Not quite.

celtictyger,
You must be a true master of AP because what you are describing is extremely advanced. I have done this for more than a year and can not even leave my home town without getting lost and confused and eventually scared and sometimes panicked.
