Ok so I've started doing this thing and I was wondering if anyone else had done it and what their experiences were. I'm calculating over the months where my period falls in relation to the phases of the moon. So far I tend to come on mostly around a new moon. Has anyone else tried this and how did it turn out for you, what did you learn? Was it Worth the effort? BTW: If you're a guy, don't respond to this thread. See a doctor!

LOL!!! I haven't done this actually but now you've got me intrigued. It should be more or less the same every month shouldn't it? I'm allways up for a little bit of experimenting though.

Wow,I must say you really got me wondered! I checked my calendar and it appeares that every first day of my period occurs on the night of the New Moon. The thing that confused me the most is How come I didn`t noticed that earlier??? I guess I have to thank you for that... Anyway,i don`t know if it`s good or not or if it`s changing anything, but I do know that it is the most painfull day in month

Well now I'm just gonna' have to add you to my list of enemies Prettyfull! (joking honey!) I'm mainly asking others so's we can compare with each other (should you want to). Now I've only just monitored my first bleed. so next one should be 22nd September, next new moon. After this (assuming I keep it up, I have the attention span of a gnat! : I'm gonna' try and record anything significant about that week. For example the impact I feel it may have had on any rituals I did. Am I more energetic/ less energetic etc. This thread may become a bit bloggish at that point. So if I bore you I do apologize. However it would be great if others would get involved as we would be able to collect are information together and maybe even come up with some information other women could work with For example if you start your period on a new moon you're likely to be a moody little witch! The best thing about it would be that We found out for ourselves rather than relying on some wicca 101 book. That or it'll not show us anything useful at all and we can mark it off as one of pixies failed theories.

I find this very interesting. My cycle began on the 11th. Used to follow the full moon but since I am nearing menopause it has changed a bit. Yesterday I did a ritual and I felt less energy and very sluggish. At last weeks ritual I felt energized and full of light. I will do one more ritual this week and let you know the results.

I had a hysterectomy so can't join the test group in this research project. But I can contribute a bit... I never had a regular cycle with my periods. But I did notice that when one came during or near a full moon, my cramps were worse, and the flow was far heaver than when it came closer to a new moon. Does that help at all?

I to like Prettyfull don't have them since I have had a hysterectomy also, but, after I had my first daughter, I had mine every 28 days on the spot and started at 10:15 am every time! Mine was before the new moon.
When she was a month old I started having periods again and I was still nursing her!! Only nursed her for 2 months, being active duty didn't help that, she got use to the bottle! But they were regular from then on!

I'm just too irregular to be able to chart it with any kind of pattern as a result. I do notice that whenever my daughter is home from college for an extended span of time mine shifts to coincide with hers - or maybe it's vice versa. Anyway, we end up starting at the same time after a couple of months. Guess that means we're kinda close? I may try it anyway just for kickers.
Funny how most of you are cycling with the New Moon, though!

I find that some months my periods are heavier and more painful than others. I'll have to keep a look out for this, and take note of the phases of the moon next time

So far not a lot to report. The only big ritual I did was my usual samhain rite thingy (Nothing dead impressive. I light a candle for the people I've lost in my life) That fell on first quarter. The thing is I'm pretty regular, so I've not got anything to compare what I perseve as normal, to what would be abnormal. I think I'm going to make a note of my character traits. Set a date for a review in 6 months, then see if my cycle has changed or my self (how I persieve myself) with in that time. That should give me a more balanced view and I can take it from there.

You're not the only person to say that either. My friend over here has said pretty much the same thing.

I have heard on reports that when a lot of women get together, the majority will be on their period at the same time(for those who still have them) Boy you better watch out for those hormones too!! alot of PMS going around whewwwwwwwwwwwwww
glad I am done with it, but the hot flashes are awful sometimes! now I know why women of the past would stand out in SNOW!
