Your diet plays a massive role in this... Are you eating fresh vegetables/fruit on a daily basis and is your diet full of the naughty fat?, things like chips, pizzas, takeaways etc, etc? If it is you need to rethink your diet, and start by eating fresh produce, adding nuts and seeds, vegetables, fruit, fish to your diet... Drink plenty of water every day... Get plenty of rest and fresh air and watch your skin clear up in a matter of weeks, and if you keep to a nice healthy diet, they will stay away~

I second what V has said....fresh fruit and veg, plenty of fresh air and drink water. You should be drinking between 1 and a half to 2 litres of water a day.
Good hygeine is a major factor too. Try to wash your hands regularly throughout the day and avoid touching your acne as this will cause it to spread and grease and grime from your fingers won't help the problem. Invest in a good face wash that is suitable for your skin - a good sales person will be able to advise you on the best one for you to use.

Some forms of acne need antibiotics. See your doc for advice

Also use a facial exfoliator and if none of this works then you will need long term antibiotics of the Tetracycline group - no big deal better than being scarred for life!
