Oh good grief! I was watching Nancy Grace (ok whatever) and some freaking kook calls her and says the reason Jodi killed her boyfriend was because she was Wiccan and into witchcraft and wiccans/witches are so into sex. She was using sex to get the boyfriend into the inner circle or some craziness like that. This person identified herself as a "christian"....I never could figure out why this kook thought Jodi killed him other than it was just beacuse she was Wiccan. How ignorant people are ....blame the witches!

Must be a local story as I've never heard the name. Did google it. Nancy Grace really tried to push the aspect that Jodi might be a witch didn't she. Journalistic lust to get a scoop and boost ratings.
Evangelical Christians have always been a threat to anyone who is not a follower of Jesus, but the love to hate us. Over the past 5 10 years the numbers of Americans attending church has dropped to levels that it's hurting them financially. When they pass the plate, not enough is coming in to cover the utilities. So the push is on to recruit new Christians, get then into church and paying their tithes. Up here we have the Catholic church advertising on TV about 5 times a night during prime time "Come back to God".
While I don't believe that paganism is growing faster than Christianity, they will point their collective fingers and identify us as a threat and tools of Satan. Add some right wing red necks in that and watch out!
Where you live in the US is going to determine your level of risk. Lets face it. If your in the Bible belt your going to see a lot more enthusiastic Christians than you might in say L.A.
But, nuts is nuts. Is it was sugested she had studied Islam, someone would call in to say she was a Jehadist. But then....FOX news, Nancy Grace, John Binner...can you trust any of them? They all have the same agenda...their own!

I am right in the bible belt and if you are not with Jesus you are with the devil. I was raised southern-bible-banging-baptist. I know how these people are. My ex is nuts, religously fixated. My eldest son has chosen an alternate lifestyle- as I call it hehe, and according to his father, my ex, it is because I did not raise him properly and it is all my fault he turned out like this. Firstly, I am proud of my children. This son served in the army. Two tours in Iraq. He is currently in school and will complete his degree next spring. He is a fine man. A good person. My ex is a religous zealot who will die alone and miserable...but I digress...yes Nancy Grace has to have sensationalism...

Apparently she was some religion, then when she met the man she supposedly killed she changed to Mormonism because of him, and I think at some point she "dabbled" in Wicca, so I guess, yes, they elude to the the Wiccan dabbling that caused her to kill him.

Not surprising really. Religious right needs to have something to rally around. If they didn't have something to point their fingers at they'd have nothing to sustain their own faith.

When you have an omnipotent god of good, you need an equal being of evil. It follows the principle of duality. Yin/yang, good/bad, positive/negative, lord /lady. You need these counter points if you believe in universal balance.
