So many Pagans refer to the moon as a source of energy. Many even view the moon as one aspect of The Lady.
In my view, the moon is not a source of anything. However it is a focal point. Where ever you might live, any time a full moon is in the sky people from all walks look up. The full moon sparks so many images of positive thoughts. It's those positive thoughts and feelings that is the true source of the energy used to charge crystals, or other tools. It's that energy that affects so many people around the world, with or without their knowing.
December 20th however, we experienced a Blood moon. Now to me energy is energy and there is no good or bad energy. Many people I talked to leading up to last night all felt the idea of a blood rad moon to be an omen of ill tidings. The internet was filled with suggestions this could be a harbinger of war. Even the TV news made reference to bad omens. So it would seem the thoughts and feelings directed toward the moon were negative. It's reasonable to think that all that negativity will have an effect on us in some way. It could be interesting to see what the coming 30 days has in store.

Yes, that is what I was attempting to say. The masses THINK it's a bad omen so it becomes one. Sort of "self fullfilling"

What about the idea that the moon itself (other than gravity) is not exerting its own energy....rather reflecting the suns.
The suns energy have always been considered positive. Then moon has always been considered 'negative' or likened with the 'female aspect'
In fact...the only energy that makes it to earth from the moon, is mirror energy of the sun. Positive becomes negative.
Human traits will also match such energy change (ie when it is heightened and peaked with a full moon). Hense the myths of warewolves etc.
Unless of course you don't accept such a notion. Im sure it doesnt fit in with much of the "new-age" rubbish floating around. ancient Druids/witches have known this for a long time. But then it seems, teachings were simple and less distorted back then.

I agree, the energy that comes from moon is reflected energy. It's peoples perceptions that defines any energy as positive or negative. And perception is by and large based on superstition and fear handed down over the ages. So much of this Neo Pagan belief is just a bunch of made up hoowie with no basis in history or Archaeological evidence (subject to interpretation of coarse). I'm not a Wiccan, so I don't pay any attention to the Lord and the Lady in my path. I do see a positive and negative aspect in nature, but only as perceived aspects of the one source.

Remembering that we are talking about a specific moon event that happened in 2010, I doubt the Bloodmoon is having any effect on us at this time.
What was interesting, as pointed out, within days all hell broke lose in the Middle East.

It is the concenus that the blood moon has to do with the Christian God and Bible prophecy.
To some people blood on the moon means danger is coming.
To others it is the Hunters' moon which gets its name from hunters that track and kill their prey by moonlight.
