Hi there,
I am very glad to have found this site - and thought it would be polite to introduce myself.
I am very new to paganism so have joined this site to try and understand a bit more. I live in the Bristol area.
All I have so far is that I have connected with paganism in a way I have never experienced with any traditional 'religion' - the fact that so much of it relates to the natural world around me just makes it feel right. I have always been a very seasonal person - I love the changing of the seasons and the yearly rituals - sowing seeds, harvesting, planting bulbs and the first signs of spring - I love the life cycle.
I also suffer from SAD in winter quite badly - and it was this which triggered a very introspective phase last year (when it was particularly cold). The more I read about paganism and the seasons - and how the seemingly dead winter is a necessary phase to pave the way to the rebirth of spring, the better I felt.
I haven't been to a moot yet - I am a bit nervous about it all, but hope to join the Bristol moot in the coming weeks. I don't think I am ready for deities yet - perhaps I never will be, but the connection I feel to humanity when I think about the rituals and beliefs which have been followed for so long, is beautiful. It seems to me that Paganism is basically a celebration of what it is to be a human in this natural world.
Sorry, what a long first post! I promise I won't ramble this much every time!
I look forward to meeting you all,
Bonnie
