I bought a book for my daughter when she was 8 years called Just Listen... about a Grandma teachin' her granddaughter about the woods and how magical it is.I'll have to dig that book out again....my daughter is now 12 and may need to hear tha message again to Just Listen.... joyfully mrsburd

Sometimes I think it would be nice to live some place back in the woods. Trouble is, here there are so many nuts with guns wondering around, and / or growing dope, the woods arn't so safe any more.

Every time I've visited/camped/spent time outdoors away from the comforts of home, I've tried to find a rock or a leaf or a stick, something, to hold in my hand while meditating. Something that I have found to be of an immeasurable help when meditating outside is a good insect repellent. Leaving some of your DNA with the mosquitoes in the forest may appeal to a few folks but not to me.
