Whaaa?

I usually find the meanings for my own dreams with dream-dictionaries and deep thinking, but this one was just beyond WEIRD for me. I was wondering if anybody else had dreams like this, or have any ideas as to what it could mean.

Well, I'm not going to explain all of the dream, but I was in a really fancy bookstore where I ran into an ex.. but, my ex was in my friend's body!

The voice was my ex's, the personality was his, the height was his, and when I hugged him in the dream, the feeling was his, but the face and body that portrayed him was another guy-friend of mine. One who I'm not at all attracted to in this way. However, in the dream, I acted as if I was unaware of the body-switch.

It was weird. Very, very weird. Anybody else have dreams like that before?? What did it mean for you?

OH YEAH!!

That's not the only dream I've done that with. I've had dreams where my friends would take up different personalities, but I've never had one where one friend took on the personality of another.

Hmmmm...
Well, maybe it means that the friend your ex took "form" of is doing things that are reminding you of your ex. And this dream is your subconscious sort of warning you (for lack of a better term) to be on your guard for different behavior.
I don't know...just a thought. Sorry I couldn't be more of a help.

Well they do have quite a few similarities in their personalities now that I'm thinking of it, but I never have thought of comparing the two before.
A few days ago, and I talking with the Ex and being silly, but he was being such a smart-a*s back that it was making me feel bad. With the Friend, I can be as silly as I want with him, and it's all just good fun.
Perhaps it could be my sub-conscious revealing how much I wish the Ex and I could get along. Then again, I'm not sure what kind of purpose that would have. Nobody said that dreams made sense though.

Oh... duh. I'm sorry I didn't before. I usually scout out meanings for my own dreams, so I feel silly when I ask for help. :/

Annyyywaayyyy...

Me and my social group were going on a retreat to some kind of royal city (like Paris, except only the top-dogs of the country lived there). All the buildings were made out of white marble-looking bricks and the streets were brick. Our parents were going to take care of some business, so they dropped us all off at the bookstore (specifically a Barnes&Noble.. it makes me laugh when I dream of specific places). I went in with a girl-friend and we were going to go to the coffee-shop. I saw an ex there, except he had taken the complete form of my girl-friend's brother. We had a light-hearted conversation on a white, antique-looking sofa, and then he hugged me (kind of a.. well, groping.. hug.. yeah (there was a "like we used to do" kind of vibe going)) and we went to the coffee-shop together where I met up with the friend again. We were on our way to get lattes when I was awaken.

Inside that bookstore, the hard floors were white marble and the soft floors were a rose and kind of dirty pink. The wood was dark-red. There was no wall-space that wasn't taken over by a book-shelf. It was supposed to be, like, the nicest Barnes&Noble in the world.

I think I have an idea for the message of this dream (like what I said in my other post), but I'm not sure with this one. I usually just look up things in my dream, write it all together, then forget about it, but friends taking over other friends' bodies is a first. So I'm curious about it. Further insight is a wonderful thing. ^^

Still curious as it whether or not anybody else's had dreams where friends possess other friends, lol. Just because.

Suhweet! I think you did well.

The only reason I was happy to be going to B&N was for the cafe, as I was looking the most forward to getting some fancy coffee.
At that point, I had been feeling the need to get away. I'm not sure if I feel the same now. I will have to think.
I wished I could talk to him about everything and still be cheerful and kind about it like the friend who got his body snatched. It's been years since the Ex and I were together and we're slowly becoming more friendly. We work together. I don't have to be friends with him, but it would be nice. However, every time I try, he'll either turn my jokes around on me or put me down somehow. He has been a lot nicer lately. I don't know if it's just that the moods have changed or if somebody did something different, but I'm glad for it. I still can't converse with him very well. I remember thinking that night, before I had that dream, "I wish he was nicer." I had hung out with the other friend a few days before, and they have a lot of similarities. I may also have a few strings still attached to the Ex. Hmmm.

A need for comfort.. I would say that that is true.

Physical contact? I think spring fever's kicking in. Eh hehe *scratches neck*

Thank you for giving me all those points to think about. I will certainly ask myself a bunch more questions about my next dreams. I'm glad I've finally cleared this up. Although, I'm still keeping possibility of "Invasion of the Body-Snatchers becoming real" door open. Lol!!
