It's nice to see wildlife, even within a residencial area. Hoefully the traffic is aware of them and slows down.
We have so many deer here that our shrubs never need human trimming.
Last week, I was getting really mad as I thought the Racoons were knocking over my garbage cans. But then I caught sight of a doe push one over and rake at the bags inside. Looking for vegatable peelings. Never saw that before. (ps: can't compost right now due to heavy rat population. City has requested composting be held off until at least June. I've killed 6 since xmas)

I love that I get to live in a residential area and still get to experience the wildlife...when I used to live in NY this would never happen...it's probably why I get so excited when something wild comes to visit...
last week we had a little rabbit come hang out on the front lawn while I was waiting with Alex for the bus...it was dark still, so I couldn't get any pics...but he just hung with us until the bus came...but I think so far the owl and the deer are my favorite!!!

I think I'd be saving my veggie peels for the deer and set them out where they can get to them... I imagine all Her children are hungry, especially where the water supplies are scarce. Gentle Light Mollimizz
