Two dreams that are connected

Ok I have had two dreams that are somehow connected.
Dream 1
I am in an old farm house that is run down and doing it up. Outside is an old haystack that has crumbled, chickens are running around it and scratching in the old hay. Snakes come out and slither across the yard towards the house.
I go into the bedroom and sit on the bed looking out of the window and watch the hens. A snake comes up behind me on the bed and three come in through the door. More are coming through the window. I yell for someone named Jim to come and help me, I feel trapped and cannot get past the snakes.I yell for Jim again and wake up.

Dream 2
The same house and farm only this time there are a lot of tiny Finches flying around hundreds of them. They get into the house and fly around before settling down in the bedroom. They fly out of the open window and go to a barn where they settle down. I watch them and feel happy that they are around.
Then I am in another room of the house an old fashioned kitchen with a big white sink in it and a large kitchen table with 6 chairs around it and a really old type of welsh dresser, I am washing an old womans hair, her head is over the sink like in a hairdressers and her mouth is open. A bird flys into her mouth and I have to take it out as she is choking. She recovers and I have to shoo the birds out of the house. She comments on the birds being stupid and I get on with doing her hair again as a man comes into the kitchen. I wake up.


The first dream is unsettling as I am not keen on snakes. My husband is not named Jim I have no idea who he is. I don't even know anyone named Jim.
The second dream is happy and I am not worried not even when the bird flys into the old womans mouth. I have no idea who the woman was.
Any ideas what this is all about?

Was it like a recurring dream? Because sometimes them dreams can come back slightly different as you grow and change sometimes. . .Have you overcome any fears lately? Maybe the second dream was trying to tell you you have devoloped a new kind of strenth because you had less fear but then again there was no snakes, it was just the same house right?.... Maybe look up in a dream book or on the net Reaccuring Dreams.

It was the same house in both dreams what happened was I woke up from the first dream went back to sleep and dreamt the second dream a bit like a continuation of the first one. So both were dreamt on the same night.

I have not overcome any fears lately.
The weird thing is why would I dream of someone named Jim when there is no of that name in my life or in the past either. I also have no idea who the old lady is although I could describe her and the house and the farm it is really odd. It also felt very real as if I was there and was somewhere that I knew.

I know snakes can mean change as they can shed their skin or problems as they are considered evil by some people. To me they represent wisdom and change.
Birds are messengers.

Hi my gut feeling with this is as follows: - the house is your security (could be body/soul) - the snakes are threats to be averted. The birds , because of the amount of them and the random nature of flight indicate annoyance, demands on you and your attention. The old woman is knowledge - could be something you've known of for some time or a belief system. The bird that flies into her mouth is trying to stop the progression of that knowledge or cast doubt upon it. The name Jim is not significant in my opinion - just a red herring.

This is interesting as I am acountry girl and not a townie so my soul is that of a country girl and I would love to get back to the countryside again if I could.
Threats to be averted, could be time as I am finding that all sorts of things seem to encroach on my time that are taking me away from what I want and need to do.
The birds in my dream at first are something I like but soon they become a nuisance and a treat. Again trying to stop me doing what I need to do.
I have recently gone back to being eclectic as I am happier when I am not restricted to just one pantheon. So some changes there and I am working on sorting things out for myself.
Someone else said that Jim could be the masculine part of my personality that is trying to show me that I can call upon that strength when needed.
I have had a lot hapen this year one way or another and have had little time to do what I need to do for myself, like meditation.
So maybe I am being reminded that I need to start doing things for me as once again 'I' am getting lost with all that is expected of me at the moment.
Time to do things that will help me be me again in a spiritual way.
