Hi
I've been a member all of 5 minutes and have a question - hope you don't mind.
I was wondering what people have on their altars. Anything unusual? I've been looking for a goddess statue for a couple of years now - I know she's out there but I haven't found her yet. I feel like until I've got her something is missing. Silly really. I was wondering whether any of you had similar experiences.

For me, the tradition I'm with has a certain altar layout that I find very comfortable. It's fairly simple (some candles, a thurible, a water bowl, bell, candle snuffer, salt). For me, I haven't found a god or goddess statute that really calls to me, so I don't have any statuary on my altar at all.

Don't mind at all.
I gave up on having an altar due to the fact it's just not practical in my house of madness. But I do have a shelf of pretty things.
;D
There I keep my crystals, candles and a beautiful wooden statue....I have a picture of it somewhere...

My altar consists of a red altar cloth placed on the floor, facing north, with a Dragon statue in the center surrounded by a circle of all my semiprecious stones, and a second circle outside that of some common white stones I found that I thought were pretty. In the north I have a piece of petrified wood I found in my yard, in the east I have many feathers collected since I became a pagan (feathers have a special meaning to me, I always find one when I make a major decision, especially if its a good one) and my wand, in the south a dragon candleholder, and in the west a collection of fossilized shark's teeth (though in a working ritual there I have holy water and in the North salt).

My living room coffee table is my altar. I too looked forever to find a Goddess statue I liked. Mine is the Spiral Goddess by Abby Willowroot.
My altar has a large silver solid pentacle in the center. I keep most of my crystal collection there: jade, citrine, amethyst, aventurine, sodalite, smoky quartz, clear quartz, labradorite, rhodonite, celestite, blue lace agate, moss agate, fluorite, carnelian, rose quartz, bloodstone, and chalcedony. I have several incense burners, one that is a five headed dragon that looks so cool when the incense spirals out their mouths. Then there's little bits and pieces I have gathered up here and there like shells and bits of wood and little ornaments. I have a nice piece of shale with fossils on either side that is native to my area. Then there's my tarot deck and votive candles, of course! I used to keep my oracle deck and special books on my altar but I ran out of room when I started collecting crystals.
I have gargoyles on the top of the TV cabinet and a large dragon mist maker, and gargoyles and a gargoyle water fountain on an end table.
My altar is a reflection of my life.

My altar is on my counter top in my kitchen it is housed in a small display cabinet which is roughly 12 inches by 10 inches. I have a redstone to represent the God, a stone with a hole in it to represent the Goddess I was looking for something natural for my altar and found these on a beach, the hole is a natural hole not man made. A white egg cup that acts as my goblet, two wooden discs with the God and Goddess symbol on them that I coloured. I also have a a small picture in there of Cernunnos and really lovely card topper of a female head that is in silver and represent Erce. I have also placed a small pouch in there that contains crystals and herbs in a sealed sachet. A Pentacle is in the cabinet as well along with some small dishes salt and water and of placing my cake on. My offering bowl is on top of my fridge freezer along with my incense burner, my wand is in the process of being made and my athame is in a draw that contains my altar cloth, candles and inscence that is used purely for my rituals etc. When I want to use my altar I open the doors and take out the items and place tham on my altar cloth, for daily devotion I simply open the doors light some incense and a candle that can be placed in front of the cabinet. In my home I have a statue of Bast and Isis along with Dragons and a Faery and a Faery House all of which represent various parts of my path. Not conventional but then I am not conventional either so it suits me and the space I have. My Cabinet Altar Bast Isis My Fae statue and house
