What is everyone planning for the solstice. I will be at Stonehenge for the sunset on June 20th then we will be having a raising ceremony for members of my order after which there will be much drinking, music and merriment.

I don't "worship" any gods and work as a solitary in all things. I don't celebrate the seasons as many do.
If I do anything, I will most likly meditate and attempt to tune into the energy generated that night.

I hope I will manage to go to my village for the solstice, as I want to celebrate outdoors, instead of being in a dark-lit room. But I'm not sure if it will be possible to go, so I haven't made a specific plan yet. Even if I stay in Athens, I hope I can celebrate *subtly* in my garden. (Really small area, which is the only thing that can be seen by 4 different buildings, so count at least 6-7 families with windows towards the garden. I can't even water my flowers without feeling shy!) My village, so you'll understand why I want to celebrate there: i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd219/amethystlexi/P1000503.jpg

Oooh beautiful picture. I have been to Greece but never the main land. Greece is a very beautiful country, the landscape is very similar to Spain. I have to say I LOVE the summer solstice. I can feel such an energy it is awesome. I usually just hold a private ritual (my garden's not secluded either - but my neighbours are used to my "weird" ways).
I don't hold it at sunrise though I hold it in the middle of the day. The sun's power is amazing and really helps me to balance out - I'm usually lopsided most of the time!

Not sure yet but I usually do things around mid day that way I don't disturb DH. I do something different each year.

This will be my second year celebrating summer solstice so im excited. Last year, I meditated in the early morning. then continued the celebration. I'm not sure this year I may celebrate with a pagan friend. which would be nice.

My yoga teacher invited me to a solstice gathering. It will be my first and I'm excited. I don't know much about it yet. I do know it is a covered dish affair.
I have always wanted to honor and celebrate the turning of the wheel and the seasons. To me they represent more than the cycle of the Goddess and Her Earth, but the seasons of our lives, our hopes and dreams, and how they come to fruition.

This is technically my second summer solstice. My main hope is that I will be visiting my uncle in VA. They like I think three miles from the beach. I would absolutely LOVE to celebrate the summer solstice on the beach!

The only thing that could throw a wrench into my plan would be the people that I am staying with... My aunt and uncle are super super devout Catholics...so I would have to sneak off to do anything pagan related...
