Not sure. Inside me I don't feel right about all of it for a stupid reason.

I practice it and will not go back. It was a rough time and I found that to be the one thing in my life I could so link to. So I study like hell and yah I am not going back. That is why now I study the darker arts to understand and protect all that I love and care about in my life.

I too was one for 5 years or so. I believe it is a 'cop out' religion as well, in many ways. Don't get me wrong, I still have many close friends who follow that path but for me at the time, it was an excuse to behave badly and treat others likewise. The 9 Satanic statements in the Satanic Bible says it all. 1. Satan represents indulgence instead of abstinence! 2. Satan represents vital existence instead of spiritual pipe dreams! 3. Satan represents undefiled wisdom instead of hypocritical self-deceit! 4. Satan represents kindness to those who deserve it instead of love wasted on ingrates! 5. Satan represents vengeance instead of turning the other cheek! 6. Satan represents responsibility to the responsible instead of concern for psychic vampires! 7. Satan represents man as just another animal, sometimes better, more often worse than those that walk on all-fours, who, because of his “divine spiritual and intellectual development,” has become the most vicious animal of all! 8. Satan represents all of the so-called sins, as they all lead to physical, mental, or emotional gratification! 9. Satan has been the best friend the Church has ever had, as He has kept it in business all these years! I do however, believe evryone has the right to follow the path that they choose without dicrimination - neither are they wrong in my eyes, just not the same as me.

Well nothing is ever set in stone in religions. I mean each day that we wake till we sleep is a new time to learn and all anew spirit renewing. I mean each one of comes from different walks of life but I do thank you maigk for all your info you have given to the coven.

Just so all are awre the Satanic Bible was not the first word relevant to Satanist nor is it the last. Satanism was not created by Anton LaVey. I'm a Satanist and I don't follow the Satanic Bible.

LaVey was the founder of The Church of Satan - a path or division of Satanism. I understand that many do not follow the Satanic Bible, I was refering to my experiences and the path I followed. My apologises for that, thanks caine for pointing it out mate. ;D
Quoted from Wikapedia: Satanism is often mistaken as being a religion that encourages cruelty and irresponsible behaviour, but LaVey's brand is very different. Central is the idea inherited from Nietzsche that an individual must enforce his own meaning on life and rise above the perceived conformity of the masses. The Satanist is seen as equivalent to Nietzsche's Übermensch; LaVey claimed "Satanists are born, not made" and that "[Satanists] have a disease called independence that needs to be recognised just like alcoholism." There is a libertarian element here; diversity is encouraged, everyone is expected to discover their own sexuality, chart their own personality, and decide their own ambitions in life. In this stress on individuality, Satanism is considered a "Left-Hand Path" religion.

Well it's simple thoughts of any we can make who we are and what we do in life. I mean wiccan religion is what we make of it. We are born with a great power inside us. It is the time we take to learn how to control this power that makes us who we are.

I believe that satanism is philisophical and can show you a balanced unillusional way through life. I do not follow it but I do give some credit towards its wording. I don't think it's about sacrifice or anything sinister. Even though the bible does show sinister ways but I don't know about the satanic bible to well. Only some.
