This is actually pretty scary. I thought that besides in pencils and in some paints, that lead just wasn't used anymore. Little did I know. I'm sure other people think the same thing too, so I'm glad this post is up. Lead poisoning can mask itself as many other diseases/disorders out there such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Migraines, and even PMS. I firmly believe in checking with a doctor if any symptoms occur. Period. And then checking out our lifestyles too. Sometimes we are told nothing is wrong, but we still feel that there is something awry. We need to further investigate then. Lead Poisoning seems to be one of those slightly hidden problems out there.

I own a book called Gods of the Celts by Miranda Green, which looks at the religion of the celts from what evidence they left behind, in the book the auther talks of miniture wheels made of lead being found at various archaeological sites through out europe. These were generaly found around graves, settlements and occasionally shries."Whilst it is not possible to establish thier precise function, it is justifiable to assume a talismanic purpose when modle wheels were worn on the person." These wheels appear from the late Iron age into the Roman occupation. They were also found made of bronze. There is no way of knowing why lead was used though.
