Bit vague VS! LOL!
Christians who practice withcraft.......hmmmmm. I don''t have a problem with anyone practising anything and calling themselves what they want. I'm not going to say a Christian can not practice withcraft, not anymore. A few years back I would have said it can't be done but I've changed a lot since then.
What I think is more important is that people are given the freedom and choice to grow spiritually.

Why not? It all depends on the person and how they view the Bible. If they are comfortable doing this then why not after all it is just another path.

Being a Christian witch is a topic that has come up before. I've read comments from both sides of the debate and have been persuaded towards both arguements from time to time.
I agree that if you want to follow "a" path and call your self whatever, that's totally up to the individual.
Having said that however, certain traditions carry with them specific beliefs and practises. You may have read the Torah and celibrate Pass Over, but that by itself does not make you a Jew.
There is the school of thought that says, to "be" Christian, Jewish, Witch,.... is to live a certain life style. That the teaching of that faith or path are with you from time you wake up to the time your sleep. To be Christian is to accept that version of Heven & hell, of Christ and Satan, of Good and Sin, of the God of Abraham and accepting no other before him, and in particular that the way to salvation is through Jesus Christ. If you don't believe that basic concepts of a religion you can not in truth claim to be of that religion. You may however be acclectic, taking from it some concepts that feel comfortable. But that still really does not mean you are of that faith.

And i very much belive if you can walk into a church and let them know your belifes truly and thay accept you then its fine. But i dont think thay whould do that.( sorry i have had maby bad experiences with the church )
But my aunt is a Christion Witch...and shes all types of crazy....the docteres even said so!

Ill just say "an it harm none do what ye will".(Addalaide i mainly agree with you and know many extremly closed minded christens but if they where a witch as well wouldnt that make them open minded to new ideas and concepts?)

I would say go for it, except for the huge passages against witchcraft, divination, and magick in the Bible...many of which are often misinterpreted. I would say brace yourself for persecution, because most Christians would be insulted by the idea of a Witch, let alone a Christian one. Of course there are exceptions to every rule, its all a matter of finding like minded people and finding your own balance. If you can make any sense of my ramblings then take from them what you will ^^;

You know I've been back and forth about this since the first time I saw the topic posted on another site a few years back. The conversation got pretty heated. I would first say, "but of course it's possible!" and then after several points were made from the opposide faction, I would then think, "hmm, what made me think that Christianity and Witchcraft go together in any form?" (Like Watershield, being persuaded for and against the arguments repeatedly, lol) However I grew to understand it like this: Christianity in it's current form today, has been drastically altered. The Bible has been modified and changed and still continues to do so today as new versions are publised. Many New Agers believe that the words of God and Jesus were purely of love and tolerance and the deeper wisdoms in order to help humanity grow. If a Christian Witch chooses to focus on this aspect then it would make sense to me. But it is impossible to practice one's craft, and at the same time adhearing to doctrines commanding one not to suffer a witch to live. (At least it is impossible to me) Also, Christianity at it's earliest beginings was a mystical religion as well. Christians pondered, and practiced the art of the deeper mysteries before it was strictly forbidden. I could keep rattling on, but then this would be a book, lol. Christian Witches only really need to fully understand their path, why they chose it, or why it chose them, and walk their path according to their own definition of it and not of someone else's. (That goes for everyone I guess, lol)

I agree with Heka and have mostly considered Jesus to be the God and Mary the Goddess. I wouldn't advise anyone to go to Church and argue this point ! Maybe I'm a coward but it's just not worth all the AG, we all know what is right and wrong and what we believe is just that - our beliefs. If it harms none do what you will and all Bright Blessings XXXXXX

Having Born Again Christian In-laws who love me "as I am" 1. because they are convinced I will someday acquiesce to their brow-beating and accept Jesus as my savior and earn my spot in heaven, and 2. have no idea I am a "witch"...I am of the oppinion that the notion of a Christian Witch is an oxymoron... Christians can most certainly be psychics, mediums, healers, ect...Christians can most certainly use their prayer to bend energy...perform rituals dedicated to their Diety (singular)...and be positive, love centered, individuals doing wonderful things on this earth...but that does not in my oppinion earn them the title "Witch". Because, what Christians cannot do is...accept and worship female Goddesses and other male Gods equal to their GOD...(as very strictly laid out in the first commandment.) Christians cannot accept others who have not accepted Jesus as their personal savior as viable candidates for heaven...or accept any other notion of the after-life other than heaven for them and hell for everyone else...I can go on...but, I'm sure you get the picture... But then again, Christians call themselves all sorts of other things they are not (open-minded, accepting, knowers of the TRUTH)...so why am I surprised some would want to be witches too...who wouldn't want to be!!!! I guess we should be flattered...

lisa - I guess this leads onto the question.. "what is a witch?"
We already have that topic going on somewhere here......
It is fascinating to hear everyone's opinions.

I had wanted to say that a witch, simply put is a believer in Wicca...and since a Christian is a believer in Christianity... therefore two can never be one...
But...I'm not okay with that answer. I don't know the answer, I'm not quite sure there is one...some would say the term witch is simply a label...and some have transcended the need for such labels...
I guess, I use the term to distinguish myself from those around me...not necessarily to build a wall...but rather to protect my identity...remember, I am surrounded by all those mindless sheep in the flock...who are vigilantly trying to fold me in...I don't think of it as a label...but rather just who I am, who I have always been it just took me a while to find my way back this time...
I feel, Christians, who are pulled strongly enough in this direction to want to actually call themselves Witches, seriously need to take a good look at themselves and realize that maybe they are Witches and just take the spiritual leap ...or accept that maybe they are just not Christians...
I don't think people need to pick one or the other or any for that matter...I firmly believe in the whatever gets you through philosophy...but if you are going to call yourself something, spiritually speaking...you should at least believe in the basic fundamentals of it...

I believe one can be a Christian who practices witchcraft, yes.
The thing is, the bible has been translated so many times, the definition of 'witch' is debatable.
I don't think witchcraft negates any of the Christian teachings..it enhances them if anything.
