Who will save your soul? Its not just a Jewel song, its a pretty important question. With global warming, warfare in the middle east, the approaching asian onslaught, it seems like we of the American continents might be in a bit of shit, but bigger than just us. If the world plunges into warfare for real we are all in it pretty deep. But does it even matter? Is this all that matters the here and now planet earth? What if there is an afterlife, how is it you're assuring your place in heaven? More importantly than what if there's an afterlife what if there isn't? What if we do only get one kick at the can in this universe just a flash in the pan existence where even if you spent your everyday exploring and adventuring you wouldnt even scratch the surface of this marvelous thing called creation. In my opinion it doesn't really matter, either way whether this is it or if I get to have infite lives following this one I will still act the same.
Just because there could be heaven or hell doesn't mean I am going to suck up to get into one or sweat it if I'm going to go to the other, I can live with who I am, I am a good person and I follow my own code of honour and even if I wasn't a good person the very idea of being punished for being a bad person is kind of ridiculous and in my opinion just an invention of man. We are who we are mostly because we were put in place to be that person. So if this is true and I don't mean that you don't work at who you are and havent put in effort, its just if you did you were kind of lined up to do so, but if this is true than the very idea of being rewarded or punished for it is kind of narrow minded. Rather what we have in store is being wiped clean I think. You will continue to exist in some infintismle way but your ego the manifestion of the events and people who have shaped you into what you currently are is gone. The eternal part of our being, the soul is highly programable, and very versatile, however no matter how many times you focus it into being part of a single being it can always be wiped clean and returned to where it came from.
Heres how I think of the soul. Souls and spirit are all made up of the same material and this material works and moves much in the same way as water, water moves very circularly, starting in clouds, it falls to the earth in individual drops, occasionaly pools on the earth and then evaporates and returns to the heavens. Thus our souls, we are connected as "clouds" the individual drops are not drops anymore they changed form and linked so many parts form the whole, then we fall to the earth individually serving whatever purpose we were intended for occassionaly it is nothing we just fall because we do, other times we fall when a drought has occured and we are very much needed, you won't always be aware of why or what purpose you serve, but a raindrop doesnt know that if it doesnt fall the earth will die, it just falls because thats how it works. After death the souls evaporates returning to the source from whence they came. Now just as water is affected by the earth and its influences and creatures so are our souls, and just the same as when the moisture is evaporated it becomes pure water again (not always as we know pollution causes acid rain for instance but just say it always does clean it out for the time being) as does the spirit when it returns from whence it came. Thus "cleaning" the earth from our eternal spirit.
Now why are we given bodies, why the hell are we here if we just get washed away after we live. Well heres what I think, I think that ego and identity gives one purpose, and purpose allows for direction. You see as amazing as the spirit is and also powerful it is unable to be focused due to its very nature, hence the body. The body's biggest flaw though is the same ego that is the key to accessing the souls power, the ego and inability to understand that which is outside of yourself. The key is to be able to grasp the expansive nature of your soul and all the subtle connection it forms between you and all the rest of creation and at the same time maintaining a strong sense of self and identity. So basically to have sight of the fact that you are all and at the same time you are just you.
Well just a few thoughts from me, what do you guys think?
