The strangest thing happened to me last night as i settled down to sleep~

I was lying there as you do, thinking about whatever popped into my head and all off a sudden i felt like someone had jerked me suddenly and as i opened my eyes i saw a massive red orb for a split second then it was gone~

The feeling was almost like i was having an out of body experience but instead of leaving from my front, it felt as if someone was trying to get me out through my back!

Thoughts anyone?~

There is a school of thought that says these orbs are free spirits (what some call ghosts). I personally don't know enough about orbs to advise you on the spiritual aspect.

You also say that you felt you were on the verge of an O.B.E.
It is possible that if you weren't fully ready for that experience and snapped back causing you to sit up very quickly.
That action could momentarily cause an imbalance of blood pressure behind the eye, which would register as a round red "orb"

Hmmmmm.....I remember listening to my grandmother telling my dad about how she woke up in the middle of the night and saw red orbs floating above my grandad who was in bed asleep - unfortunately I never got the chance to ask her any more about it because I was too young to be curious by such an event. But it stuck in my mind none-the-less and you've just reminded me of it. My granddad was a very spiritual person and certainly an open and receptive man.

Looking at this from another point of view red is the colour associated to the root chakra. It could be that you are having issues in your life that correspond to this chakra and maybe it was a release of excess energy from this point.

The root Chakra inspires us to be loving, passionate and warm, compassionate to those with whom we share our identity in family relationships and in the context of community and nation. It creates unity, common goals and responsibilities between like-minded people.Security, survival, trust, the relationship with money, home, job. Ability to be grounded, to be present in the here and now. Ability to allow one's self to be nourished, in the sense of allowing one's Inner Being to be satisfied. This chakra also reflects a person's connection with their mother, and with Mother Earth. How the person feels about being on the earth and connection with the physical body.

hmm. I don't know about the whole jerking thing but I have definitely woken up quickly to a lovely red orb above my head...I always just thought it was a spirit of some sort (granted I was very young when that started...it was the easiest explanation to give myself...)...still kind of startling however...

but, since it went along with the weird feelings in your back, I think it might be energy displacement as well...having too much bottled inside and it just coming out all of a sudden is very possible.

Thanks for the insight guys, i think i shall take on board what you have said Hedge, the sensation that night did come from the base of my back and i felt as if i was being drawn out from that area~

Also the issue thing is right, at the moment the state of some nations and some religious groups have been getting to me a bit more than i should really allow~

Thanks guys, i think i shall re-balance my Chakras, iv been meaning to do it for a while now, maybe that was a wake up call~

May not be only the shock of your first time of almost going O.B.E. You got to think of protection spells to yourself. If you ever leave your body make sure it's protected. You also may be getting jerked back almost like a line pulling you back incase your left in a way. Someone may be watching over you maybe not thinking you are fully ready to go. It could have been you pulling yourself back. The red orbs that is the second time I have heard but spirits being orbs yes I known of that I do got info on that somewhere I will pull up for you.

Angelis, this was not my first time experiencing an OBE, and i always shield myself if i venture into the Astral planes, this was different to an OBE somehow~ Bear on AWA mentioned that he had experienced something similar and said it may have been an unwanted guest trying to enter my body, don't quite like the idea of that! ~ Thanks for the reply guys~
