I'm not a Wiccan, but an all-purpose witch, lol. I'm a bit of everything. I can't get into any box with this one really.

I'm Wiccan AND a Witch. I'm a solitary eclectic Wiccan/Witch.
Although the idea of being a Kitchen Witch really appeals to me so we'll see what happens in the future, lol

uhh...good question. I never really set out to find a specific path, I was always waiting me stumble upon to right one. For the time being I am an eclectic witch. However I have a book on green witchery(which appeals to me greatly) and gypsy magick, which looks highly interesting. So we will see where all of this leads me.

I'm Wiccan AND a Witch. I'm a solitary eclectic Wiccan/Witch. Actually, if you are a Wiccan then you are a witch by default (Wicca is a religious form of witchcraft), so that statement would be redundant. On the flip-flop, however, as a solitary eclectic you more than likely belong to the "Neo-Wiccan" branch. In which case such a statement would be necessary as some Neo-Wiccans don't consider themselves to be witches. ;D While I'm here I might as well add that I'm Seax-Wican which, depending on who you ask, means I'm either Wiccan, Neo-Wiccan, or "not even in the ball park". *laughs*

Yeah, but some people don't know that that's the same thing or don't label themselves Witches so I just put both to ease confusion, lol.

Actually, if you are a Wiccan then you are a witch by default (Wicca is a religious form of witchcraft), so that statement would be redundant. Not all wiccans are witches. Not all wiccans practice witchcraft. You can be wiccan without ever practicing witchcraft. To be wiccan is to follow the wiccan religion.

You could argue......... That if you look at the entymology of the words Witch/Wiccan that all Witches are Wiccans and all Wiccans are Witches? CC in Anglo Saxon is pronounced as "Chuh" so Wiccan becomes Witch-an! Wicca and Wicce are male & female forms Witch-ah - Witch-uh. wicca [] 1. m (-n/-n) wizard, magician, soothsayer, astrologer; 2. see wicga wicce [] f (-an/-an) witch wiccecræft [] m (-es/-as) witchcraft, magic wiccedóm [] m (-es/-as) witchcraft wiccian [] wv/t2 to use witchcraft wiccung [] f (-e/-a) enchantment wiccungdóm [] m (-es/-as) witchcraft The words first appear "ONLY" in Anglo Saxon England! home.comcast.net/~modean52/oeme_dictionaries.htm

Think you mean etymology wulfeage Etymology denotes the origin and historical development of words by determining their basic elements, earliest known use, and changes in meaning. All words have evolved from other words and meanings get changed over the years. My point wasn't a history lesson on the modern English language but rather that you can quite easily be wiccan without ever having done magic in your life. Anyone else agree/disagree?

Doh!
Too many people get caught up with the word "Wicca" I mean even if you take Gardner's word for it (Witchcraft Today) he thought himself that it all stemmed from the northern tribes a fact often lost on the Witch Kings and Queens but.... in any case you are what you are and can be all you wish to be, being part of "the club" is something I opted out of a long time ago until I founded my own ;D ;D ;D

Not all wiccans are witches. Not all wiccans practice witchcraft. You can be wiccan without ever practicing witchcraft. To be wiccan is to follow the wiccan religion. Etymology aside, by the traditional (read: Gardnerian, et al) definition Wicca IS a form of religious witchcraft. What do you think you're using to cast that circle for ritual, hmm? This is why the label "witchcraft" was so prevalently used in Wicca's infancy. It wasn't until probably the late '70s, when folks started realizing that Gardner's witchcraft wasn't the end all be all, that the term "Wicca" became popular. Anyone who claims to be Wiccan but not a witch is, by the traditional definition, Neo-Wiccan.
