I'm laughing at this. It's wonderful. There are things that we all hold true to ourselves. This gives me confidence. I was just thinking that I must be some sort of bad wiccan for not casting a cricle everytime I sat in front of my alter and called power. Or that fact that I had yet to gater an athame, or other tools. I don't say my spells out loud, I let everything flow through me silently. And I respect that some of us are fluffy, the first reason I got into wicca was beacuse I felt something missing, I wanted to change my life, I wanted to be a great powerful girl. Actually I wanted to be Sailor moon. I bought some moon stones, and researched wicca. Sorry to say I wasted the stones throwing them about under a full moon and asking to be turned into a super crime fighting woman(we can all laugh at this later). But after I grew out of sailor moon, wicca still stayed with me, and 9 years later here I am. A wonderful, and still in training witch. I think we can all learn by just being and knowing that we are wonderful sometimes. There's no harm in the way we do things, as the saying goes: it's the thought that counts. Right?

I like that very very much! It's true. Tools and such are definitely not everything...

Tools are useful but yourself is the biggest tool. Not only mind, body, and spirit. But just know that in life the tool that can do anything and work. I know I am reapting myself in this post but I got hounded by a 55 grandma that was my fighting teacher and she always told me I was never to rely on your weapon for its just a tool. But the one tool that can be used all the time is yourself.

I believe your mind is the powerful enough to do any spell. Its just like the saying 'if you put your mind to it you can do anything'
Agree?

to an extent. tools maintain significance. we might believe we can walk on water but when the time comes we need a bridge.

very true, but the bridge can make life just a little bit easier, depends on if you like it the hard way.

I agree ~ to a point. A tool [the bridge] is used only to help you focus on the intent [crossing the river, or another desired magickal intent]. If your will is strong enough, you don't need the bridge...or the tool.
Nobody said magick was easy!
;D

if it were easy it wouldn't be worth doing
<begings to wonder how easy bridge construction is>.
i usually only use tools if im feeling particularly "formal"

Yes let this be the Pagan Ten Commandments. I have all the kit and use none of it now though love it all. However, I've carried out rituals in my mind and I don't remember the lesser 'Days' either. I will say that during my time in a coven I would often get bored with rituals (not all some were truely unforgettable) but the strict protocols and interpretations by some of the Senior members almost turned it into a church based religion. I would try and lighten it a little and bring in a bit of humour but some people just like the sound of their own voice............. if you get my drift?

I like that. I have such trappings of Ritual as may be needed, but I use my mind and body to manipulate any energy I need to use. I suppose if I needed to blast some moron, having a wand and zapping them with that would look good.
