It is less dangerous being Pagan than it is being in any way 'different'.
Now THAT is dangerous!

I feel it is dangerous to an extent to be pagan, at least openly so. But like someone said, so it is for being different in any way.
Try being a goth, gay, transgender, white pagan living in a muslim neighborhood and having to walk most places most of the time. @.@
It's not fun, I'll tell you that. I've never had any direct issues, but that doesn't mean I never will. So I spend my life with one eye looking behind me. It sucks, but it's necessary.

Dangerous to be Pagan? No, not yet anyway Could we be persecuted? Yes
Christian churches do not like Pagans in general they see us all as Devil Worshipers. I wear a Pentacle and it is often on veiw outside the tops I wear some people recognise it and you can see they don't like it. Some think it is the Star of David until they realise it has 5 points. I have even been asked if I worship the Devil.
Druids have been recognised as a religion here in the UK so I can see more Pagans saying they are Druid to shut people up. I have put Pagan on my Hospital forms and on the Census form as well.
I would rather be misguided as they term it and be myself even if they do end up persecuting us for it.

It really is a matter of "where do you live".
UK, pagans / witches are accepted. USA / Canada, for the most part tolerated but not understood. That by itself can lead to "issues"'
Africa, witches are murdered all the time.

And in the USA, it depends on what part of the USA you're in. Urban areas tend to be a little more accepting of diversity in general than rural areas.

Here in the UK we are accepted but in some places we are still looked on as evil. Here in Milton Keynes we have a pagan community and Moots but the Council make it hard to do things we fight them all the time for things. It is getting easier especially since the Druids have beeen accepted as a religion. They cannot do a lot as even the Government has allowed this to happen in some places click the link to see what I mean. [a href=" news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8154812.stm"] news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8154812.stm[/a] In Africa you can be killed for being a witch or if they think you are one. So compared to them we have it very easy even if we are only tolerated in some areas.

I can see that things could sometime in the future turn bad in the US. The Catholic church is looking for more say so in everything. The Christians are scarey anymore and it wouldn't take a whole lot to get them rolling. Where I live ya got to be very careful not to offend with pagan ideas. They do not like it. I am a nocturnal witch and if I want to do something outside, I gotta be very careful.

Good example of how things are changing in the States can be seen with the referrences and influence being shown in the current primary races. Being Christian is a very key issue to getting the nomination. That's one of the points that anti Obama people keep going after...is he Christian or Muslim. If Ricky gets into the White House look out. I would expect all current pagan rights to be wiped out.

I tend to agree ws. I think we are on the verge of an era I would just rather not see. It seems that for every step humanity has made in the last 100 years is being shot down.
I don't just think it will just be Pagans being persecuted, but anyone who does not embrace a christian faith.
I won't even start on how I think this will effect women int his country. The abortion issue is minor compared to the other rights we are already losing.
I do wish the christians would stop putting all occult based paths in the same basket. I mean seriously, being pagan and being a satanist are two very very different things. Most pagan paths do not even aknowledge satan's existance. It's highly disturbing, you know they are just expecting us to start butchering children and virgins for orgies and dancing in the moonlight naked for satan.
UGH!

I think you will remember that back at the start of the Primaries, on another site, I said Santorum is the anti christ. I haven't changed my opinion.
Regardless if he is elected or not, he will work as hard as he can, in he name of his lord, to reshape America into the twisted sterile black hole of his religious view.

Oh I do not disagree, well, I don't think he's good looking enough to be satan returned, but otherwise, I don't doubt he is going to f**k this country up all that way back to puritan times.
