Hey everyone...just wanted to share something I do every year
It is very simple.
Around the new year I write a list of all of my goals for the upcoming year...I make them ambitious, yet attainable...usually things that will require some work, compromise, and a bit of luck...
But always things that are in the best interest of my family.
This year my list was 8 things. 5 of which revolved around gettting our finances in order, as the economy is obviously weighing heavy these days and my husbands job can dissappear at any moment...so I want to have my ducks in a row.
Well, I just got back from the accountant...and with our tax refund of this year, I am able to completely satisfy the two most ambitious financial goals of 2009, completely paying off the new Air conditioning/heating system we had to replace last April (that I was making minimum payments on) and repaying the money I had to take out of savings to float us when things got a bit tight.
And because it is only February and those two are taken care of, it means that the other three can also fall into place as well...
When I made the list, I anticipated the tax refund to cover most but not all of the AC units, and by the end of 2009 to get the other two smaller debts satisfied...but I did not expect the savings to be replenished this year...that one was my pipe dream...
So, please, take a little time and write a list (on paper or on the computer like I did this year), be pure in your intentions, and visualize yourself crossing off the items one by one...and it will come.
Good luck!!! ;D
