I can't see it very well, but I don't think it's quartz.
Looks to be formed by water, the stalagmite / stalactite idea.
A form of Calcite comes to mind, but I'd need to do some digging.

I did that...downloaded it to the desktop and enlarged it-
but your enlargment's better !
It does look like stalagmites...
Any caves nearby ? underwater ones ?

Beautiful!!! I believe it is a type of cave crystal, something along the lines of Molli's thought process. Keep us up to date on what you find out.

I still think it's Quartz simply because of the vibrations. Incidentally Mr hedge found some more pieces - if anyone wants one pm me your postal address and I'll post 'em out. |
