Tarot, but I rarely use them as I believe in creating the future for myself. My understanding is divination doesn't create your future; it simply tells what's going to happen *as it stands now*. Everyone certainly has the power to change their future. Divination gives you a "heads up" warning in case you need to know something before it happens and for you to make changes in your life if you want to.

It has been said...to glimpse the future is to change it
Did Nostradamus only view the things to come or did he set them to motion?

The future is based largely on past and present conditions; it can sometimes be determined through logic and science regarding the two. I don't see how looking into the future changes what will happen. The future of one's life is what it is and will be unless the person wants to change it either in a mundane way or by majick.
I haven't studied enough about Nostradamus to comment about him.

So, if you where to look into the future and saw yourself being hit by a car while crossing at an intersection you always use....would you not find an alternate route.
If you did not get hit, what other spin offs would result (ie: to others) as a result of that accident not happening.
For instance...the driver now no longer has a crushing guilt, does not become an alcoholic and does go on to help develop some super bug that kills millions. The witness is no longer delayed and arrive at the bank during the hold up and is shot coming through the door.
The future, in my view, is a random set of options. We follow a path making choices along the way that open doors for us to move through. Alter the path and we arrive at a different selection of doors.

My understanding of divination is this, it is a possible future not one set in stone.
We all make choices that alter our lives every day and those of others along the way. We decide to either do or not do something and that changes our future. I like to use Tarot as it gives a possible future.

Yes, pretty much what I believe in; as I said each person can certainly change their future. Even divination can change; that's why some people look to it daily. But yeah, basically my point.

Isn't divination just an extension of our subconscious, helping us see things that we don't obviously see on a conscious level? If you were to glimpse the future isn't that being psychic and a totally different thing?

I wouldn't say the subconscious.
This is how I see it: It's like a spirit (by way of the board) is sitting right next to me, and I'm asking questions and the spirit answers me. I feel the best way I could tell the future on my own is by being highly intuitive, which makes me a good counselor also, but just because I can sense what's going to happen, I personally don't feel I am perfectly right all the time, every time. (those that do, good for you!). I'm not THAT experienced yet to be like that. So I look to divination as either a comforting confirmation as to way I think will happen, or in case I'm off the mark completely and need guidance.
There are many things that could interfere with knowing the future--any negative feeling inside you can do it.
So if what I said is being "psychic" then I guess it is too.

I would have to say I don't do any divination. I sit by the fire or out in the forest and "contimlate the universe" .Looking at what I have done in the past where I am now and where my journey might lead me next.
We all know where I destination is but its our journey in life that makes us what we are. I wouldn't change my lifes journey the good or the bad.You bless the good days and you learn from the mistakes.
If I was to learn that I was to die tomorrow there is a reason for it,for there is a reason for everything even though we might not see it at the moment.

I use Goddess Oracle cards, the drawings are beeeautiful and now that I've used them I get a really good reading from them and am much better at translating them. But the oddest thing happened, my husband asked me something and I even drew 3 times and just didnt get the feeling that his answer was being drawn. They didnt make any sencse to me and I was getting NO feeling what so ever which had never happened before. But I've used them afterwards and they worked fine. I draw three cards in three rows each row stands for past, present and future and the three cards gives what I see/feel more definition. I've always had feelings about people and have always been excellent at seeing problems/situation through others eyes and turly understand where people are comming from and explaining to them what they are feeling back to them. I was always the friend everyone vented to. When I purchased the deck I totaly felt a connection to them and it came soo natural to me
