For the past couple weeks, I have literally been stalked by spiders. Everywhere I go, I come across at least one spider. Last night, there was a spider on my tissue; last week, there was a spider on my toilet paper. A couple of days ago, there were like 3 spiders on me within in a couple of hours. Now I absolutely adore spiders. However, this is becoming a bit ridiculous!
I talked about it with my mom, who also loves spiders. She said that they are not going to go away until I figure out what they are trying to tell me. I have looked in all of my books on power animals for spiders and what they mean, but I can find nothing. Its not that I am upset that the spiders are around, I just wish I knew what they were trying to tell me because it could be important. So, does anyone, by any chance know what the meaning of spiders are? For the record, if it matters, they are generally tiny little spiders.

When the spider crawls into our awareness it is asking us to rebuild the web of our life in accordance with the design the creator gave us. The spider shows us that the past, the present and the future are all interwoven. It awakens our intuitive creative senses and encourages us to design the fabric of our lives from our souls original intention.
The spider is a link to the past and the future, birth and creation. The spider signifies the tapestry of life. The web we weave is the reality we experience. Choosing the appropriate path is one of the lessons associated with this animal.
Because spiders are actually very delicate they embody the energy of gentleness. Spiders are not usually aggressive unless they are defending their lives. Moving forward in all situations with a gentle strength is a skill that often needs to be learned for those with this totem. In man, the bite of a poisonous spider symbolizes a death, rebirth process. Poison enters the nervous system and the body either transmutes it or falls victim to its venom and dies. The study of numerology might be beneficial.

I always feel very blessed when spiders come into my life and if I rescue them before the cats eat them, I pick them up cupped in my 2 hands and put them in the garden. The bigger spiders chatter, I guess with fear when I do this but you really feel you've engaged with them. I luv Hedges's interpretation above and will think more of this next time one comes to call.

Oh, Moondaughter, this happens to me too. But that's because I'm pathetically terrified of the things and they LURK, waiting for me, I'm sure they don't 'chatter' it's more of a laugh. Next time I encounter one (probably in an hour or two when I go for a bath......there's bound to be one waiting) I'll try and remember Hedge's words. It's got to be more dignified than screaming about hairy legs and sending my OH upstairs to deal with it.

Thanks for the advice hedge! That has made things clearer
Sul, I know what you mean bout the chattering. I had this huge one in my hand once, when I was at a track meet, and he seemed to just chatter away! I truly love spiders and this one only increased my love for them.
By the way, as I was reading the replies, a small spider came crawling across my monitor.

To be serious for a moment, Moondaughter. I do think that creatures come into your life for a reason. Many years ago I saw a heron. It was the first time I'd ever seen one in my locality, two days later I saw another two, these were in flight and a short time after that I saw one standing in a puddle by a busy road! I wasn't sure what it meant, but each time I saw one I took it as a sign that I was on the right path. I was going through some changes in my life at the time and every time I made a decision and then saw a heron I took it to mean that the decision was the right one.

It is unfortunate for me, that in this case, the only thing a Spider will do to me, is crawl on me while I'm sleeping, and then bite me several times, leaving a series of itchy lumps.
Although, I do agree with what Bluemoon said, creatures coming into your life, does have a reason and a symbolism of sorts, which does vary upon interpretation.
I myself find when I'm wandering about or going places I ussually do not tread at times, I encounter cats.
Or when I'm having my doubts about things, or feeling at a general low, I seem to always encounter a Raven, which, in some cases is seen as a 'Bad Omen' and could be telling me that if I continue to keep myself down at such a time, I will only draw bad things close to me.

I had the HUGEST spider ever! land almost on my head when he fell of the roof. I'm talking handspan. But it was just a Huntsman. beautiful hairy creatures they is. I still get a fright, startled, when i see one suddenly, but i like looking up close at them. Never picked on up and heard the chatter, but that sounds cool. And I always save them, cos our house is sprayed with the best bug killing stuff around (i live in a restaurant so its mandatory) and i dont want the beautiful things to die

I implore you all to embrace the spider - literally. They are truely beautiful and protect us from the foul infections inflicted by the fly! They are beautiful graceful beings aligned to Ariadne - all women are multiskilled due to our ability to use many hands at once - even 8! Love the spider - touch her - embrace her - she is woman

Spider is Anansi in African and Caribbean folklore, he is a trickster figure- but he often gets tricked himself. I can see how they are associated with this too, a web is an elaborate scheme to catch food.

I live with many spiders. I ask them not to crawl over me, as I have fast reflexes, that will damage the poor things. They tend to stay out of range, and I will repatriate any I find somewhere I don't want them. Killing spiders is never a good idea, but then killing anything unless you will eat it, is not a good idea either.
I had two very large Coloradan spiders living on a ranch I had, eight years ago. They would follow me around, like small dogs - it was a bit weird, but tolerable. They were far too big to be scary.

Thats a funny way to look at it. "They were far too big to be scary". Most people are more scared of the huge ones I like them big and hairy though too haha

I have found that if something is the size of a dinner plate, it is unable to creep up on you unawares. Not only is it easy to see, but a spider that big makes noise as it moves, so you can hear them. It is the silent Widows, and Recluses that creep me out. You can't easily see them, you can't hear them, and they bite. You, in Australia have many more small nasty ones, than I find here in my adopted country.
