If you are only just starting to learn about magic, I wouldn't think of crafting any spells just yet. First you have to gain an understanding of how and why they work.

In my opinion, spellcrafting should only be used as a last resort, after you've exhausted all other possible options.

Personally, I don't agree with spell sharing, because a spell is personal to you, and geared to your particular needs, intentions and desires. If you use someone else's spell, you may not get the result you'd hoped for!

Incidentally, Paganism and witchcraft don't automatically go hand in hand. Witchcraft does fall under the Pagan umbrella, but it's a different path entirely...and one not to be undertaken lightly.

I don't think using other peoples spells are a good idea, use them as a guide to create your own by all means, but use your own.

Jezibaba the best advice I can give to you is to read as much info as possible on the subject of paganism. You are in no rush so take your time.

Someone once said, sharing spells is like sharing underwear! Eeew! So I think it is important to make your own. But I spent 6 whole months after I decided to become a witch researching, reading spell and ethics books, looking on the Net......just generally finding everything out. People who jump both feet straight into Paganism often get branded 'fluffies'.

Lots of wonderful people giving you magnificant advice.

Reading and asking questions is really the best thing you can do at first. I thought I knew what I wanted when I started my journey. But after doing a lot of reading, asking tons of questions, listening to what others have to say, I realize the path I started out on was not the path I was supposed to be on.

So I have changed directions and feel much more comfortale now. It is still a Pagan path, just much different than the one I thought I would be taking.
